Release Date: 11th July 2025
Version: 5.0.2
This release introduces new tools for visibility and control, improves retention and document restoration, and resolves several search and indexing issues.
✨ New & Improved
Patch Notes Viewer
You can now view FileHound patch notes directly in-app!
See what's new, improved, or fixed with each release in a dedicated modal window. Available from the sidebar.
Improved Recycling Bin
Restoring deleted documents is now easier and more intuitive:
A redesigned layout gives better visibility of when a document will be permanently deleted.
Clearer actions help you recover files confidently before they're auto-destroyed.
Auto-Destroy Admin Setting
Admins can now toggle a global Auto-Destroy setting.
When enabled, documents in the recycling bin will be permanently deleted after 30 days.
A confirmation step ensures administrators are aware this action is irreversible.
API Key Management
A new admin page has been added for managing your FileHound API keys.
Easily generate and manage access credentials for use with the FileHound API.
Retention Policies (Bug Fix)
An issue that previously prevented users from saving retention policies has been resolved.
Notifications Auto-Cleanup
System notifications now automatically expire after 30 days — no more manual clean up required.
Search & Indexing Fixes
Hyphen Fix: You can now use hyphens (-) in search terms without breaking your search.
"Not Indexed" Bug: Resolved an issue where documents were incorrectly marked as "Not Indexed" in search results.
SmartCapture Improvements
SmartCapture now respects configured rules for which fields should not be pre-filled.
This helps prevent QA issues and ensures more accurate data capture.
Fixes & Optimizations
We’ve made significant backend improvements to support long-term stability and performance, including architectural updates and monitoring hooks.
While not visible in the UI, these changes improve the overall robustness of the platform.
We're committed to improving your experience with every update. Thanks for using FileHound!
